Children’s Home, Matale

A Safe and Loving Home

Our children’s home provides a warm and secure atmosphere where 30 girls are encouraged to grow with confidence and joy. Each child receives individualized care that respects her dignity, nurtures her emotional health, and supports her physical well-being. Healthy meals, comfortable living spaces, and consistent routines create a sense of stability and belonging.

Spiritual and Cultural Growth

We emphasize the importance of spiritual guidance and cultural awareness in shaping character. The girls participate in daily prayers, moral lessons, and reflective activities that cultivate empathy, honesty, and respect. Major festivals such as Durga Puja, Christmas, Buddha Purnima, Diwali, and the Poya festival are celebrated with enthusiasm, fostering joy, unity, and appreciation of diverse traditions. Pradip Puja is observed at the end of every month, becoming a meaningful and regular spiritual practice for the children.

Holistic Learning-Mind, Body, and Skills

The home provides a nurturing environment for academic support, creative expression, skill-building activities, and structured play. Children engage in yoga, games, and interactive activities that encourage self-expression while enhancing concentration, discipline, teamwork, and confidence. Through guided exploration, children are supported in discovering their unique strengths, developing social skills, and pursuing their interests in a positive, encouraging, and playful setting.

Connecting with Nature through Gardening

Gardening is a favorite activity that helps the girls connect with the environment, develop responsibility, and learn patience. From planting seeds to nurturing plants, the children enjoy hands-on experiences that instill care, teamwork, and pride in their efforts. Watching their plants grow gives them joy, a sense of accomplishment, and a deeper appreciation for nature.

Extracurricular Activities

We offer a wide range of extracurricular opportunities to enhance personal growth and social skills. Storytelling, quizzes, dance, drama, music, and creative workshops help the girls explore their talents, improve communication, and build teamwork skills. These activities encourage curiosity, resilience, and a sense of achievement.

Educational and Recreational Trips

The children regularly go on excursions to cultural, historical, and natural sites, providing hands-on learning experiences beyond the classroom. These trips broaden their horizons, inspire curiosity, and create joyful memories, while also encouraging teamwork, observation, and practical understanding of the world.
